Eligibility Highly-skilled foreign professionals who are currently living other than Japan , Nationality of OECD countries which is on DAC list (Excluding China).

Host companies are determined after matching by the Program Office and subsequently approved by the Screening Committee.

Application requirements

Persons who satisfy all the following requirements are eligible to apply.

  • □Agreeing with the purpose of this program and willing to cooperate with Japanese businesses for promoting internationalization and overseas business development, and building networks with overseas universities etc.
  • □Holding citizenship of an eligible country or region.
  • □Those who can do the internship in the designated Satellite Office.(5 days a week from Monday to Friday)
  • □Proficiency in Japanese language (JLPT level N3 or higher) or proficiency in English.
  • □Applicants should be at least 20 years of age and not older than 40 as of October 15, 2020.
  • □Applicants must be able to submit a school or university enrolment or graduation certificate and a letter of recommendation from the (enrolled/graduated) university or company etc.
  • □Able to submit certificates of various qualifications
  • □Able to undertake required training and engaged in internship at the designated Satellite Office.
  • □Able to participate in internship in accordance with the timetable which the Program Office appoints.
  • □Able to strive for good communication as much as one can in tele-working
  • □Satisfying with any other individual conditions required by each company.
  • □Those who have not participated in this program from FY2016 to FY2019.
Application & selection method
  • □Registration is acceptable on an online basis by using registration form on the Program Office website.
  • □Selection is conducted through document screening, first interview (native language/English/Japanese), and secondary interview (Japanese/English).
  • □During the selection process, various documents (qualification from university, language skills etc.), letters of recommendation, photographs are required to submit individually.
Main support for interns
  • 1. Daily allowance (as expense of lunch, drinks and commuting from your accommodation to Satellite Office) will be paid by local currency worth of 1200 yen per activity day.
  • 2. Internship insurance
  • 3. PC, Lan , WIFI settings and office telephone at Satellite Office.(Mobile phone expense will be paid by intern him/her self .)
Main responsibilities of interns
  • □Formulating an internship plan (roles/goals, etc. of an intern) discussing with the Internship manager
  • □Participating in pre-training, follow-up training, and wrap-up presentation.
  • □Engaging in internship during the designated period.
  • □Strive for good communication as much as one can in tele-working
  • □Taking responsibility for their own safety and health thoroughly. Contact with the Program Office and the host company regularly, continually reporting or consulting with them.
  • □Being obliged to handle some tasks requested from the program office (document, notification, and report) not only during internship period but also before and after the internship.
  • □Appropriate behavior required as a recipient of public funds from Japanese government.

※This program offers work experience, not actual employment. It aims to provide interns with workplace skills and know-how.

  • Eligible applicants are those Who has nationality of OECD countries which is on DAC list (Excluding China)and currently resident of 5 countries where Pasona branches will provide Satellite Office for activity.
  • Information sessions will be held online. Please note that even non-participants in information sessions can apply for internships.
  • Recruitment information sessions for host companies will be held online.
  • Application is acceptable on an online basis by using registration form on the Program Office website.

  • Screening process will be conducted based on information contained in the application form aptitude and experience/ability as an intern, understanding of the program purpose, and any conditions or requests for the host company.
  • Selection will be conducted through document screening, primary interview (native language/English/Japanese), and secondary interview (Japanese/English).
  • Various certification documents regarding University qualifications or language skills, etc.), letters of recommendation, photographs, etc. are required to submit individually.
  • In accordance with registration information and the results of interviews, the Program Office will set up ideal matching, prioritizing combinations that are expected to achieve the purpose of this program.
  • The Program Office will notify host companies and intern applicants of the results of matching. After mutual agreement has reached, matching will be accepted.
  • After matching is established, cancellation can not be made at the convenience of the company or intern.

  • After the approval by the Screening Committee, letter of notification of acceptance will be sent both to the intern and to the host company. Based on this notification, at the same time ,host company and intern start preparation of the internship.

  • Regarding acceptance and performance of internship, The Program Office and intern, and the Program Office and host company will respectively conclude a contract that defines the rules and obligations regarding acceptance

1. Submission of internship plan1

  • The host company contacts the intern, and after consulting and coordinating regarding the mission, goal, and plan etc. of the internship, the host company reports online to the Program Office about the internship plan.
  • During internship, activity time per day is 4 hours, from Monday to Friday regardless of each company's work day rule.

  • The Program Office confirms that the contents and the goals to be achieved under the internship plan adequately reflect the intent of the program, and that the mission and commitment of person in charge of the host company’s intern officers are very clear, and that acceptance of interns is recognized as an important matter.
  • If the content and goals of internship do not match the purpose of JIP program and its validity cannot be admitted, there is a possibility of acceptance is cancelled on the way of internship.

1. Pre-training1


  • The Program Office will conduct online training for both host companies and interns. Seminar contents are cross-cultural understanding, tips and precaution for proceeding online internship.

  • Soon after the internship starts, the host company will conduct an orientation for the intern Internships should start from a solid understanding of this explanation of workplace rules and precautions, in order to ensure smooth implementation of the internship. The intern and personnel in related departments should review the internship plan to ensure full understanding before starting.
  • Host companies and interns will create daily reports and submit these to the Program Office. Based on the content of reports, the Program Office may have a teleconference or visit host companies as needed to gauge progress and understand the situation.
  • When conducting activities outside the designated Satellite Office (host company's branch, fieldwork), please notify The Program Office in advance and ask for judgement whether it's okay or not)
  • Submit the various documents by the due date.

  • The program office will organize a review at the midpoint of the internship period.
  • Host companies and interns will make sure progress, and look back what have learned and what should be improved.

  • After completion of internships, wrap up presentation will be held. Person in charge of the host company and interns will jointly deliver presentations regarding results and achievement of the program’s mission at each host company.

Important Points to Confirm

With regard to application signup, please confirm and agree with the following important points before signing your application.

  • 1. Even after applying for registration, matching with a company will not necessarily be guaranteed.
  • 2. Absolutely no inquiries will be answered in regard to the selection status or reasons for the decision.
  • 3. Even after approval by the Screening Committee and matching has been established, acceptance may be cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances (natural disasters, etc.).
  • 4. After approval by the Screening Committee and matching is established after mutual agreement, cancellation may not be made at the convenience of the company or intern.
  • 5. After starting the internship, interruption of activities on company’s /intern’s own conveniences may not be accepted.
  • 6. Since the internship is supported by public fund, the program’s results achieved through hosting of interns will be made public via official websites and similar media. For the FY2020 fiscal year, an overview of each intern's name, country of origin, and overview of internship at the host company will be disclosed, as well as information from interviews.
